Steven H. Nigro is a Founder and Managing Partner of TAG Financial Institutions Group, LLC, a New York–based investment banking firm specializing in mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic advisory services for the insurance and financial services industries. He brings more than 40 years of financial, operational, regulatory, and transaction experience across the banking, securities, and insurance sectors. Before founding TAG Financial, Steven established the Financial Services Group at Allegiance Capital Corporation, where he continued the specialized financial services practice he had developed earlier at Pfife Hudson Group and Hales & Company, both New York–based investment banks focused on the financial services and insurance sectors. Steven’s operational background includes two tenures as Chief Financial Officer. He served as CFO and Treasurer of Tower Group, Inc., a property and casualty insurance carrier, and as CFO of OTA Limited Partnership, a securities broker-dealer, where he oversaw acquisitions and the financial management of the firm’s broker-dealer, savings and loan, and insurance companies. He currently serves as a Director of Kestrel Group Ltd., a public Bermuda-based specialty insurance holding company, where he is Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Compensation Committee. From 2007 to 2025 he served as the Lead Independent Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors of Maiden Holdings, Ltd., a publicly traded Bermuda reinsurer. Steven previously served on the boards of ARIS Title Insurance Corporation and Tower Insurance Company of New York. He is a Certified Public Accountant in New York and holds multiple FINRA licenses, including General Securities Principal, Financial and Operations Principal, and Investment Banking Representative. Outside of his professional endeavors, Steven is the Founder of Tu Lucha, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering at-risk youth through boxing, mentorship, and community engagement. He is also a USA Boxing Certified Coach. |
